I. Aims
This program aims at nurturing talent in Integrated Traditional Chinese & Western Clinical Medicine by combining theory and clinical treatment methods of traditional Chinese and Western medicine. This course is suitable for those who have obtained the bachelor's degree of traditional Chinese medicine. For students graduated from Western medical universities, they need to take certain basic and clinical courses of Chinese Medicine.

III. Program Duration
The normal study period of Master of Integrated Traditional Chinese & Western Clinical Medicine is 2.5 years. The maximum duration of study is 4 years.

VII. Teaching Requirements
- Students are required to complete six core courses from Table 1 and obtain 8 credits from Table 2 during their study period to gain 34 credits.
- Each student has to conduct scientific research on clinical or clinical basics in Chinese medicine under the guidance of his or her supervisor. They have to read professional literature, make literature review and prepare a thesis proposal. For clinical research, they have to develop comprehensive clinical ability and conduct clinical study on a specific topic. For clinical basics research, they have to conduct basic experiments of clinical research in laboratories.
- In order to achieve the minimum requirement for applying thesis oral defense for graduation, students have to publish at least one paper as first author or co-first author and meet any one of the below requirements:
3.1 Published in Core Chinese journals or the Key Magazine of China Technology;
3.2 Outstanding paper, Grade I paper, or Grade II paper accepted by MUST according to Guidelines for classification of academic papers of Macau University of Science and Technology;
3.3 For paper beyond the scopes of 3.1 and 3.2, the supervisor may examine and recommend it to the Faculty of Chinese, and the Faculty judges the paper equivalent to that listed in 3.1 or 3.2.
3.4 Students have to submit a thesis no less than 20,000 words based on their research for thesis oral defense. Students are required to complete an original research master’s thesis and pass the thesis oral defense.
VIII. Study Time
The duration for taking all courses is 12 months and the duration for clinical practice and/or research as well as thesis writing is 18 months.
IX. Graduation Requirements
Upon approval from the Senate of the University, a Master’s Degree will be conferred on a student when he or she has:
- Completed and met the requirements prescribed in the study plan of his or her program within the specific study period, and achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above (excluding thesis)
- Abided by the regulations of the University
- Cleared all fees and charges and returned all University’s property and equipment borrowed
