Macau, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou
In order to enhance communication and cooperation with the internship institutions and to gain first-hand feedback of students’ internship, faculty members of the FHTM of M.U.S.T. visited over ten internship institutions in Macau, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou from April to May in 2018. During this visit, participating teachers communicated with student interns, offered relevant guidance, and discussed with their supervisors.

And in Guangzhou, they visited Shangri-La Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Guangzhou, and Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou.
FHTM students were highly appreciated by the internship institutions for their serious attitude, proactive working style and good communication and presentation abilities in English. In addition, those companies considered the curriculum design of FHTM as reasonable, corresponding with the actual needs, and students were able to apply their theoretical knowledge into practice. Therefore, those internship institutions would be more than happy to continue the cooperation and establish a closer and long-term partnership with FHTM.
Internship program is an important part of the FHTM curriculum, which provides an opportunity that students can apply the theoretical knowledge they obtained from class into practical work. With this experience, students not only acquire a deeper understanding of their major, but also prepare better for their future work. The highly positive evaluation many FHTM students have received from the top managers in the hospitality and tourism industry reflects that FHTM has reaped fruits in the undergraduate education.
A total of 400 students participated in internship this year, the majority of whom have stated that their future career will be in the hospitality and tourism industry. After graduation, some of them will stay in those internship institutions where they worked, while some will get further education in the universities. FHTM will continue improving the programs, always combining the industry's practical situation with theoretical education to enhance the competitiveness of our graduates.
