Food and Beverage Student Participated in Young Talent Escoffier Competition Macau 2019
On 4th June 2019, Food and Beverage Management student, Shan Ning, coached by FHTM lecturer Chef Chen Kuan-Ting, participated in the Young Talent Escoffier Competition Macau held by Disciples Escoffier International. The competition took place in the Fundamental Culinary Lab of FHTM. Candidates were required to cook a main course using two main ingredients “eggs” and “crayfish”. Student Shan Ning used his cooking skill and creativity prepared a dish “Beer Poached Egg with Crayfish” and received the third place prize.
The competition provided a platform and an opportunity for Macau young chefs who are under the age of 24 to present their idea and culinary talents. The winner of this selection will join the candidates from other delegations in Asia and will compete against each other at the Asia Finale, and the winner of the Asia Finale will participate in the World Finale, Shanghai 2020. The competition has provided invaluable connections, experiences, and opportunities to young chefs in the world of gastronomy.
