The First International Seminar on Intelligent Analysis for Software Data Held in M.U.S.T.

The first International Seminar on Intelligent Analysis for Software Data hosted by the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Innovative Engineering of Macau University of Science and Technology was held on March 21 in the library building (Block N). Professor Du Zhang, Director of the School of Computer Science and Engineering of Macau University of Science and Technology, delivered a welcome speech, and the meeting was chaired by Associate Professor Tao Zhang. More than 100 students participated in the seminar.

With the increasing scale and complexity of software, analyzing massive data in software warehouses has become an important research topic in the field of software engineering. Currently, deep learning technology is widely used in this field, greatly improving the efficiency of a series of automated software engineering tasks (such as code search, code summarization, bug localization, etc.). Analyzing software data can also give powerful support to address security issues in mobile applications and smart contracts. The seminar invited three outstanding young scholars in this field to give speeches on log analysis, smart contract analysis and mobile software engineering.

Associate Professor Weiyi Shang is from Concordia University, Canada, where he is the Research Chair of the Department of Computer Science. He was once listed as one of the outstanding scholars in the field of international software engineering. He has received many honors including the ACM SIGSOFT Outstanding Paper Award. His current research interests include big data software engineering, software data analysis, and software performance engineering.

Associate Professor Xiapu Luo is from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has published more than 100 top journals and conference papers in the field of software engineering and software security, including top-tier software engineering conferences such as ICSE, ESEC/FSE, ISSTA and top-tier software security conferences such as CCS, Security. He has received several awards including the ACM SINGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award. He is currently the Associate Editor of the top-tier journals IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking (ToN) and IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC).

Professor Li Li is from Beihang University. He was a senior lecturer at Monash University in Australia (equivalent to an associate professor in the North American education system). He received his Ph.D. at the University of Luxembourg in 2016 and was twice selected as one of the most influential early-career software engineering scholars. He has published more than 100 papers in top-tier software engineering journals and conferences such as TSE and ICSE, and has won the best paper awards 7 times.
