Shizi Gate Law Forum – “Public Regulation of Internet Market” was Held Successfully

The 50th session of Shizhi Gate Law Forum was held on 15 November 2019.  This forum was organized by Macau University of Science and Technology and were supported by Macao Foundation and Macau University of Science and Technology Foundation.  Topic of the day was “Public Regulation of Internet Market”

It was our honor to invite Professor Ying Feihu from Law School of Guangzhou University, Professor Xing Huiqiang from Law School of Central University of Finance and Economics and Professor Song Yahui from Law School of Nanjing University to be the lecturers of the captioned forum.  Associated Professor Wang Chuanhui was the panelist and Assistant Professor Peng Yunpeng was the host of the forum respectively.  Moreover, Professor Fang Quan, Executive Vice Dean of Faculty of Law in M.U.S.T., presented the souvenirs to the lecturers before the forum started.

Professor Ying Feihu gave a speech about the “Understand the impact of deviations on transactions and legal intervention”.  He pointed out that consumers may fall into cognitive biases for human neurological reasons when making decisions.  Therefore, we have to introduce the behavioral economics into the market regulation research.  In order to aim at improving the legal regulation effect.

Professor Xing Huiqiang was more concerned about the personal data protection in internet market.  He sorted out some hit cases in recent years and China-related legislative progress.  Besides, he also put forward his relevant suggestions on future legislative plan.

Professor Song Yahui generalized the three modes of current Internet market regulations which were approval, reformation and reconstruction.  Moreover, he also pointed out that when choosing the regulation mode, we have to pay attention to matching of the regulation system and regulation targets, and so as the countermeasures and issues.  Furthermore, we have to consider the factors of cost restriction and technical barriers while processing the reformation and reconstruction.
