Faculty member and students participated in the Macau-Mainland Youth Law Exchange Week 2021

In order to provide young students with a better understanding of the legal system and the latest development opportunities in China’s Mainland, and to promote the integration of young people into the country's development, the China Law Society and the Law Bureau co-organized the "Macau and Mainland Youth Legal Exchange Week 2021”, the opening ceremony and the first course of which were held in the morning of June 24 via webcast. The event was supported by the Macau Legal Exchange Association. Dr. Zhou Ting, Mr. Wong Chi Ho, Ms. Ho Nguyen Xuan, Mr. Cheng Shun Yan, Mr. Tse Fou U, and Mr. Kam Hin Chung participated in this event.

Zhang Mingqi, member of the Party Committee and Vice President and Secretary General of the China Law Society, Liu Dexue, Director of the Macao SAR Government Law Bureau, Huang Wenjun, Deputy Ministerial Assistant of the Legal Department of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Macao, Wang Wei, Deputy Director of the China Law Academic Exchange Center, Vong Keng Hei, President of the Macao Law Exchange and Promotion Association, as well as young legal practitioners from the Association and law faculty and students from the University of Macao, the Macau University of Science and Technology and the City University of Macao attended the opening ceremony in Beijing and Macao at the same time.

After the opening ceremony, Li Lin, Vice Director of the Academic Committee of the China Law Society, gave the first lecture on "Xi Jinping's Thought on the Rule of Law" to the young legal practitioners of Macao.

This exchange event, which started on June 24 and ended on June 28, invited a number of authoritative experts and scholars in the fields of constitutional law, the Basic Law of Hong Kong and Macao to give lectures in the form of online seminars. The topics included the centennial history of the Communist Party of China and the development of Hong Kong and Macao, "One Country, Two Systems” and the construction of the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as the structure and effectiveness of national security legislation in the Special Administrative Region.
