In order to strengthen maritime exchanges and cooperation between mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, and enhance the understanding of mainland shipping laws, practices, and social humanities among students from Hong Kong and Macau, the Faculty of Law organized a summer training program at Dalian Maritime University as part of the "Ten Thousand Talents Program" from June 25 to July 4.
In addition to our university, the summer training program attracted a total of 38 students from the University of Hong Kong and the University of Macau. The program featured a combination of innovative and practical content, providing an excellent platform and opportunity for faculty and students to engage in in-depth discussions on important topics such as the development of the shipping industry and changes in legal systems in different countries and regions. It also served as a great platform for students from Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China to understand their homeland and foster communication and camaraderie.
Assistant Professor Zhu Feng from the Faculty of Law expressed in his speech that the Dalian Maritime University Hong Kong and Macau Student Summer Training Program provided an excellent opportunity for students from Hong Kong and Macau to gain a deeper understanding of the development of their homeland. The Faculty of Law at the M.U.S.T. actively responded to the call and attached great importance to the series of activities in the Hong Kong and Macau Student Summer Training Program, with dozens of faculty and students participating.
The Faculty of Law at the M.U.S.T. attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with mainland universities, actively participating in the "Exchange Program for Students and Faculty Members from Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland Universities" (referred to as the "Ten Thousand Talents Program"). The "Ten Thousand Talents Program" has become an important link between our faculty and mainland universities, providing a vital platform for our students to learn about mainland legal systems and understand mainland culture, while also offering an opportunity for mainland universities to learn about the Faculty of Law at the M.U.S.T. and the city of Macau.
The Faculty of Law will continue to adhere to its mission and goal of "Rooted in Macao and open to the world, the Faculty of Law commits to embrace multiculturalism, to nurture local and cross-regional legal talents, and to promote the rule of law" providing diverse and high-quality exchange opportunities for faculty and students, and promoting exchanges and cooperation with mainland universities.
