Dean Fang Quan warmly welcomed the visit of Deputy Director Li Hu and his delegation, and introduced the latest developments of the Faculty of Law, including the scale of faculty and students, teaching characteristics, national-level research platforms, and affiliated institutions. During the meeting, Dean Fang Quan particularly focused on introducing the research and teaching activities related to arbitration and dispute resolution at the Faculty. In order to promote the cultivation of arbitration professionals, the Faculty established the Master's Degree Program in International Arbitration in 2014, which was one of the earliest professional master's programs in arbitration in the Greater China region. Subsequently, in 2016, the Faculty established the "Center for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution" as a platform for promoting theoretical research, practical teaching, and social services in the field of arbitration.

Deputy Director Li Hu introduced the development of the China Maritime Arbitration Commission during the meeting. Established within the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade by the State Council in 1959, the China Maritime Arbitration Commission is the only national and international arbitration institution specializing in the resolution of maritime, commercial, and transportation disputes, as well as all other commercial disputes. It has multiple business centers under its jurisdiction. He pointed out that the China Maritime Arbitration Commission is committed to providing foreign-related legal services to improve the business environment and actively serves the development strategy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He expressed the hope that in the future, there will be enhanced communication and cooperation between the China Maritime Arbitration Commission and the Faculty of Law at M.U.S.T., and joint efforts will be made to promote the construction of a soft legal services environment for regional foreign-related affairs.

This meeting has established a friendly connection between the Faculty of Law at M.U.S.T. and the China Maritime Arbitration Commission, laying a solid foundation for future close exchanges and cooperation between the two parties. The Faculty of Law at M.U.S.T. and the China Maritime Arbitration Commission will focus on promoting cooperation and exchanges in areas such as student internships, personnel exchanges, theoretical research, and academic activities, jointly promoting the construction of the rule of law in arbitration in the Greater Bay Area.
