On April 15,2023, organized by Accounting Society of University of Macao and cosponsored by the Student Union of Business School of Macao University of Science and Technology and Student Union of Macao Polytechnic University, ‘Rui Suan’ Accounting Knowledge Final Case Competition was successfully held in the College of Business and Administration, University of Macao.
The topic of ‘Rui Suan’ final case competition was concentrated on climate-related risk disclosure. Students were required to evaluate the climate related-risk disclosure of Exxon Mobil in 2021 and constructed a reasonable model to estimate environmental liability. The competition was hot, firstly, six teams selected from three universities shared their insight in the presentation, demonstrating profound academic skills. Then, the judges made professional comments on the content shared by the students. The contestants benefited a lot and deepened their understanding of relevant accounting knowledge during the exchange of ideas with peers and professors. In the end of the event, Team ‘Timuzuodedudui’ from School of Business, Macao University of Science and Technology won the first prize, Team CAMU from Faculty of Business and Administration, Macao University and Team ‘Disney zaitaogongzu’ from School of Business, Macao University of Science and Technology won the second and third place respectively.
