President of MUST Visited Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture; Secretary Gave Recognitions to the University’s Teaching and Research Achievements

President Liu Liang of MUST led the MUST management and paid a visit to Dr. Tam Chon Weng, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture in the afternoon of March 1, 2016. The delegation was warmly welcomed and received by Secretary Tam, Mr. Ip Peng Kin, Chief of the Office for Social Affairs and Culture, Counselor Heidi Ho, and Counselor Lam Io Pak.

President Liu Liang first extended sincere thanks to the Macao SAR Government and the Office for Social Affairs and Culture for their tremendous support and guidance to Macau’s higher education and MUST, and then presented a report to Secretary Tam on the overall development, educational achievements, and research outcomes of MUST over the past recent years. President Liu Liang noted that MUST attaches equal importance to both teaching and research, and takes as its unique educational characteristics to bring in excellent talents, and the University would fully seize three keys in its development: innovation, quality, and effect, and make exponential efforts in fostering talents that are not only equipped with innovative spirit and professional knowledge and skills, but also are patriotic elites that love the motherland and Macau, so as to cater to the development demands of the society and move forward industrialization and internationalization.

Secretary Tam Chon Weng gave high praises and affirmations to the educational and research achievements of MUST, and noted that the Macau SAR Government would continue to provide full support for Macau’s higher education and for MUST, and offer sufficient coordination in jointly fostering the next generation of excellent talents.

Other MUST management members that have also participated in the visit include Vice President Pang Su Seng, Vice President Tong Ka Lok, Vice President Chen Xi, Vice President Jiang Zhi Hong, Vice President Pang Chuan, and Mr. Kwong Ying Wa, Administrative Officer of the President’s Office of MUST.
