F.H.T.M. Held the Second Session of Distinguished Scholar Forum of Hospitality and Tourism —— Revenue Management for High-Star Hotels: Cases and Practices

As part of the celebration of M.U.S.T.’s 22nd Anniversary, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) held the second session of Distinguished Scholar Forum of Hospitality and Tourism on March 31, 2022, entitled “Revenue Management for High-Star Hotels: Cases and Practices”. Ms. Qu Yinghua, Director of Revenue and Ms. Hu Jiabi, Manager of Revenue from the White Swan Hotel were invited as the guest speakers to share their views on the topic. Prof. Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM, Program Director Dr. Zhang Yang, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hong Fang attended the lecture. In addition, about 100 students majoring in MITM and MHMT participated in the lecture via Zoom.

Prof. Ben K. Goh thanked Ms. Qu Yinghua and Ms. Hu Jiabi for giving the lecture to teachers and students of our faculty. He hoped that students would cherish this rare opportunity to understand the operation process of hotel revenue management and develop a new direction for their future career planning.

In this lecture, Ms. Qu introduced the concept and operation of revenue management of the White Swan Hotel in detail. Ms. Qu’s explanation was very detailed and vivid, which helped students to have a clearer understanding of the hotel revenue management process. Ms. Qu and Ms. Hu have rich experience in revenue management, they are able to accurately predict the market environment and seize market hotspots, and they have successfully implemented effective strategies to achieve revenue management objectives at each stage. In the final Q&A session, Ms. Hu also answered the students' questions about the White Swan Hotel and revenue management.
