To celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Macau University of Science and Technology, the M.U.S.T. Model United Nations Association, with the support of the Student Affairs Office and Students’ Union, successfully held the “MUSTMUN 2022 Macau Science and Technology” from March 26 to 27, 2022. A total of 50 delegations attended this conference, and they respectively came from Macau University of Science and Technology, the University of Macau, City University of Macau, Pui Ching Middle School, Keang Peng School, Yuet Wah College, Lingnan Middle School and some other Macau-based schools.
Through the perspective of historical substitution, the delegates can appreciate the vicissitudes of world politics and feel the international sentiment of this place where Chinese and Western cultures blend.
At the beginning of the meeting, the representatives had heated discussions on such sub-topics as historical issues, international status of women, and the Tonga crisis, and fully exchanged opinions from all sides. The representative of the international status of women reiterated the definition of trafficking in women and girls, and also proposed to implement preventive measures such as financial assistance，improving education in human trafficking, establishing victim identification teams, assigning spiritual support experts and volunteers, as well as engaging in international cooperation to combat transnational human trafficking. Representatives from India, Afghanistan, Germany and Denmark from Macau University of Science and Technology actively promoted the conference process, negotiated and cooperated with representatives from various countries, and won the best representative, outstanding representative and honorable mention awards respectively. The meeting was conducted successfully.
At the end of the meeting, the members of the presidium conducted academic sorting and summarization, and summarized the results of the meeting. The M.U.S.T. Student Union Model United Nations Society will adhere to the activity model combining theory and practice in the future, enrich the activity experience of the club, and organize parties to play a complementary role, carry out cooperation, and share resources.
