On November 23-25, 2020, the 12th International Conference on Advanced Infocomm Technology (ICAIT 2020) was held at the Macau University of Science and Technology. As the epidemic of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has not been effectively controlled globally, the organizing committee of ICAIT 2020 decided to hold an online conference and conduct an offline venue at the Macau University of Science and Technology at the same time. Although the conference is chiefly held online, the participants from domestic and overseas destinations are still enthusiastically communicating and learning about from each other via the Internet and cloud-based systems. The conference attracts more than 100 experts and scholars from domestic and foreign universities, research institutions, and companies in the information and communication field to participate online, and more than150 faculty and students from the Faculty of Information Technology of Macau University of Science and Technology to participate in person.
Since its founding in 2008, t ICAIT has been successful held in Jinan, Stockholm, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Hainan, Wuhan, Paris, Hsinchu, Fuzhou and Hangzhou. It aims to bring researchers, developers, and users together in both industry and academia in the world for sharing the state-of-the-art results, for exploring new areas of research and development, and to discuss emerging issues on advanced infocomm technology, including optical communication, fiber technology, wireless communication, mobile network, biomedical photonics, big data and space communications, navigation and tracking, etc.
The 12th International Conference on Advanced Infocomm Technology coincides with the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Macau University of Science and Technology. The Faculty of Information Technology of Macau University of Science and Technology holds the conference as one of the important celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the University and hopes to use this platform to seek new opportunities for cooperation and development with universities, research institutions, and enterprises from domestic and overseas.
