Applications for the "NEW CORNERSTONE INVESTIGATOR PROGRAM" have launched. The deadline for this application is on Sep 30, 2022. This is a new type of basic research funding project focusing on original innovation, encouraging free exploration and public welfare. The "New Cornerstone Researcher Program" is led by scientists, funded by Tencent, and operated independently. Tencent will invest 10 billion yuan within 10 years to support a group of outstanding scientists to devote themselves to basic research and realize the original innovation "from 0 to 1" in a long-term and stable manner.
The "New Cornerstone Researcher Program" application has institutional nomination and individual applied. Applicants for both application ways must follow those conditions: under the age of 55 at the time of application; serving as a doctoral supervisor for more than 5 years; working full-time in mainland China or Hong Kong and Macau ( Nationality is not limited); work in scientific research for no less than 9 months each year; have experience in undertaking basic research topics and are still in the front line of research.
Applicants can obtain such sub-fields, application guidelines, FAQs, and other information through the official website, and complete the application through the official website and attachment. This year's application result will be announced in the first quarter of 2023.
