Macao Science and Technology Awards

One. Brief introduction

In order to reward those who have made contributions to local science and technology activities, mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of local science and technology workers, and accelerate the development of Macao's science and technology undertakings.

In accordance with Article 50(5) of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region and Law No. 9/2000 The Chief Executive formulates Administrative Regulation No. 6/2011 "Rules on Science and Technology Awards" in accordance with the provisions of Article 8, Paragraph 3 of the Science and Technology Outline Law, and after consultation with the Executive Council.

The Macao Special Administrative Region shall establish the following awards:

1. Science and Technology Awards, including the following awards:
   

   (1) Natural Science Award;

   (2) Technical Invention Award;

   (3) Science and Technology Progress Award;

2. Graduate Science and Technology R&D Award;
3. Special Rewards.

The Macao Special Administrative Region was establishedAwards review committee The Association will be responsible for the evaluation of the Science and Technology Award. The Postgraduate Science and Technology R&D Award is judged by the Science and Technology Development Fund.

Applications for the Macao Special Administrative Region Science and Technology Awards are accepted every two years.

Two. Eligibility

1. Science and Technology Awards Macao residents who meet the following conditions or who have obtained a work permit or studied in Macao may apply for the Science and Technology Awards:
   

   (1) Have worked or studied full-time in a Macao institution for one year or more;

   (2) Major scientific research and technological development activities are carried out and completed in the Macao Special Administrative Region, and results are achieved;

   (3) If the applicant cooperates with scholars outside the Macao Special Administrative Region to carry out scientific research and technological development, the applicant must be the main person who completes the work.

2. Graduate Science and Technology R&D Award Master's or Doctoral students who are enrolled in a local institution of higher learning or who have graduated within one year of the date of publication of the award application, As long as you have continuously participated in scientific research in natural sciences, technology or engineering for one year or more during the period of study, and are recommended by the affiliated colleges and universities, you can apply for the Graduate Science and Technology Research and Development Award.
3. Special Awards Persons or institutions of the Macao Special Administrative Region who have won the National Natural Science Award, the National Technological Invention Award or the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

Three. Application Method

In accordance with the requirements of the relevant award, the applicant will send the application file containing the following information to the Science and Technology Development Fund:

1. Completed application form;
2. Photocopy of the applicant's identification document; if the applicant is not a Macao resident, a photocopy of the legal work permit or proof of study in Macao must also be submitted;
3. If there is any proof of achievement, especially books, papers, research reports, intellectual property certificates, awards, etc.;
4. If applying for the Science and Technology Award, letters of recommendation from two associate professors or above who are not related to the project group must be submitted;
5. If you apply for the Postgraduate Science and Technology R&D Award, you must submit a letter of recommendation from a higher education institution.

After completing the online application, applicants who apply for the "Science and Technology Award" and the "Special Award" will download and sign the relevant materials generated by the printing system and submit them to the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund before 2022/02/25.
