The Faculty of Medicine of Macau University of Science & Technology (MUST) offers a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program similar to MBBS courses offered in U.K. and other countries. The curriculum is competency based consisting of five years of formal course followed by one year of internship. The main objective of the course is to create ‘tomorrow’s doctors’ in Macao who would be compassionate, caring and competent in delivery of effective and efficient patient care. Course begins with foundation module and progresses through various basic sciences and clinical clerkships.
澳門科技大學醫學院開辦的內外全科醫學學士學位課程的設置是參考了英國及其他國家的課程結構與內容。課程以培養學生的能力為基本，包括五年的常規課程及一年的實習。本課程的主要目標是為澳門培育“明日醫生”，使他們具備同理心、愛心及技術和能力以提供有效和高水平的醫療護理服務。課程由基礎模組開始，進階至各種基礎科學和臨床實習。
Phase I : Introduction to Medical Education & Training
Phase I of the course begins with three months of orientation program emphasizing course structure, importance of appropriate communication skills, language proficiencies, ethical and moral values, humanity and duties of the doctor. It also introduces students to the application of basic sciences in clinical context along with concepts of active learning and evidence basic practice. Block is followed by a period of formative assessment to familiarize students with examination requirements and practice.
第一階段：醫學教育及培訓導論
第一階段的課程，首三個月為導讀課程，重點讓學生瞭解課程結構、溝通技巧的重要性、語言能力、道德倫理、人文素質和醫生的職責。課程引導學生在臨床上應用基本科學的概念，積極學習及循證實踐。該模組完成後會進行評估，使學生熟悉考試要求和技巧。
Phase I : Biomedical Science in Clinical context course
Phase I continues with system (organ) blocks of five weeks each. Teaching in these blocks will be organized with integration of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology based on clinical scenarios. There will written and practical summative examinations at the end of Years 1 and 2, followed by six weeks of elective period before students progress to third year of Phase II program.
第一階段：結合臨床個案來學習生物醫學教育
第一階段會繼續採用每個學習模組為期五週的教學方式，此模組的教學是按不同的臨床個案，與解剖學、生理學、生物化學、藥理學、病理學、微生物學等知識整合。醫科生需在第一學年和第二學年結束前進行一個總結性的筆試和實務考試，另外再完成六星期的選修課程後，才進入第三學年第二階段的學習。
Phase II : Clinical Foundation Clerkships
Third year of clinical foundation course with three rotations is held at hospital, family medicine and community health clinics to learn basic clinical examination skills with real patients across various specialties. Students will have opportunity to acquire abilities to make diagnosis based on comprehensive history taking and physical examinations prior to any routine and supportive investigation are undertaken. Course will end with third summative written and clinical examination again followed by four weeks of elective.
第二階段：臨床基礎見習
第三年的基礎臨床課程分別在醫院、衛生中心和社區診所三個地方進行輪轉，從學生面對真實患者時學習各種不同領域的基礎臨床檢查技能。讓學生有機會在常規和輔助性檢查前學習透過詢問病史和體格檢查作出診斷的能力。課程結束時將進行第三次筆試和臨床技能考試，接著是四星期的選修課程。
Phase III : Clinical Advanced Clerkships
Advanced clerkship of six months duration will be an extension of clinical foundation course to consolidate clinical diagnostic skills with interpretation of investigation and management of patients from paediatrics to geriatrics and mental health. These clerkship will be offered at network of hospitals and clinics beyond the University teaching hospital (UH). Formative evaluation of students’ logbooks and clinical competence will be undertaken as a part of continuous assessment.
第三階段：臨床高階見習
為期六個月的高階見習是實踐臨床基礎課程的延伸，從小兒科到老人科以及精神科患者檢查和管理的闡述，鞏固臨床診斷技能。於高階見習期內，學生將被安排至澳門科大醫院和診所進行實習。見習結束後不會有總結性考試，然而，學生的臨床日誌和臨床能力將會納入並作為連續性評估的一部分。
Phase IV : Clinical Specialty Clerkship & Assistant Internship
Specialty clerkship is a year long program related to Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Family Medicine, Community Medicine and other specialties. Emphasis in this clerkship will be on management issues. After progressing through Phase I, II and part of Phase III modules, it is expected that students have acquired sufficient skills to participate in active management of patients as an Assistant Interns as a part of interprofessional team. After completion of specialty clerkships and a period of revision students will appear for final examination to obtain degree certificate of MBBS.
第四階段：專科臨床見習與實習助理
專科見習為期一年，涵蓋外科，婦產科，兒科，家庭醫學，社區醫學和其他亞專科。見習的重點是處理問題。通過第一，二階段以及第三階段的模組學習後，學生應該掌握到足夠的技能，以實習助理的角色，協助專業間團隊參與患者的處理。在完成專科見習和複習期後，學生將進行期末考試，以獲取內外全科醫學學士學位。
Electives
Students will be offered six weeks of electives in Macau and beyond at the end of first, second, third and final years to broaden their learning and participating experience in health care projects, volunteerism, international health. Students will work with nominated supervisor to guide and certify their active involvement.
選修科目：
學生在第一，二，三和最後一個學年結束前可修讀一門為期6周的選修科目，有助廣闊視野，讓他們在衛生保健專項，志願服務，國際衛生等獲取經驗。學生將與指定的導師一起工作以確保其參與的積極性。
Internship
After successful accomplishment at the MBBS exam, medical students will undertake 12 months of compulsory and supervised internship at recognized training units in Macao and beyond. Macao University of Science and Technology will monitor internship program to ensure interns have obtained good clinical experience; and supervisors have signed their logbooks to document satisfactory completion of internship.
實習：
在成功通過內外全科醫學學士學位課程的考核後，學生將在澳門及境外的認可培訓單位接受為期12個月的認可臨床實習，澳門科技大學將監督學生的實習情況，以確保學生獲得良好及充份的臨床經驗。學生需要得到導師對其實習記錄的認可，簽署確認完成實習並符合要求後，學生方及格完成整個課程的要求。
