Admission Procedure for International students
to MUST Undergraduate Programs
for the Academic Year of 2017/2018
(Not applicable to students from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan)
The Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) was founded in 2000 and has steadily grown to be the largest multi-disciplinary university in Macau. MUST ranks among the Top 100 Universities in the cross-strait four regions for four consecutive years. MUST emphasizes both teaching and research, with the aim of providing high quality teaching and conducting excellent research. There are nine faculties/departments in MUST covering a wide range of fields such as social sciences, science, law, management, business, medicine, pharmacy, art, tourism, communication, and language. The University is authorized by the Macau SAR Government to award academic degrees at doctoral, master and bachelor levels. There are currently more than 10,000 students. MUST houses the only “State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine”, and “Partner Laboratory of Key laboratory of Lunar and Deep Space Exploration, Chinese Academy of Sciences” in China.

Remark: The medium of instruction of the above programs is English. Undergraduate programs not listed here are designed for Chinese speaking students and proficiency in Chinese is required. Please contact Admission Office by email ([email protected]) for details.
B. General Admission Requirements
1. High School Completion
Applicants who have completed 6 years of High School and graduated, or are finishing High School by August in the year of their applications are eligible to apply.
2. What are the English Requirements?
2.1 The English requirement for applicants whose native language is not English is TOEFL 79 or IELTS 5.5.
2.2 For applicants whose native language is English or if their most recent three years of education are done completely in English, the English requirement is exempted.
2.3 For applicants who do not meet the above requirements in 2.1 or 2.2, but pass the faculty’s interview/evaluation can also be accepted, depending on the assessment by the Faculty.
3. What are the Mathematics and Physics Requirements?
Applicants should have passed high school Mathematics. Applicants to the Bachelor of Science program should also have passed high school Physics.
C. Acceptance
Applicants who have met all the admission requirements can be considered for direct acceptance. Applicants who are unable to provide all the test scores, but who have passed the faculty’s evaluation and/or interview can also be considered for direct acceptance.
D. Scholarships
In order to encourage international students to apply for the programs, the university will award full scholarships or half scholarships to outstanding international students. Details are available from the University.
E. Cohort Program
Students learn better in groups. MUST has created a unique Cohort Program for outstanding students to build and participate in bespoke learning community, which fosters creativity, builds leadership skills and enhances greater progress and achievement in academic and professional life.

G. Application Procedures
Applicants are required to submit their application through Online Application System (OAS). At the same time, upload below documents:
1.Biography page of passport;
2.High school graduation certificate or certification letter about the student completing high school by August this year;
3.Official high school transcript in English or translated into English with grades from the last 3 years of high school;
4.TOEFL / IELTS / Mathematics Olympiad(MO) score (if any);
5.Certificates / scores from other public examinations (if any);
6.Proof of other academic or extra-curricular accomplishments (if any);
7.Recommendation letter(s) (if any).
