Clarivate Analytics released the latest issue of Essential Science Indicators (ESI) statistics on September 9th, 2021, showing that two disciplines of M.U.S.T., Social Sciences and General and Clinical Medicine, for the first time entered the Top 1% of global universities and scientific research institutions. M.U.S.T. has so far ranked in ESI four times this year of 2021 with a total of five disciplines, the previous ones being Molecular Biology & Genetics, Pharmacology & Toxicology, and Computer Science.
In addition to its eye-catching performance in ESI, M.U.S.T.’s social sciences also achieved outstanding results in the international subject rankings: Hospitality & Tourism Management ranked 51-75 in the 2021 SHANGHAI RANKING Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS); and Hospitality & Leisure Management ranked 51-100 in the 2021 QS World University Rankings by Subject.

This discipline construction and development has already achieved fruitful results in the subject of Clinical and Health which ranked 301-400 in the 2021 THE World University Rankings, and Human Biological Sciences in 2021 SHANGHAI RANKING GRAS ranking is 301-400.
Up to now, a total of 6 disciplines of M.U.S.T. have entered the Top 1% of ESI: Engineering, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Computer Science, Social Science, General and Clinical Medicine.
ESI is a basic analysis and evaluation tool for measuring scientific research performance and tracking scientific development trends. It is based on the global data collected by Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science (SCIE/SSCI). The quantitative analysis database, established from more than 12 million document records of more than 12,000 academic journals, is one of the most important evaluation index tools commonly used to evaluate the international academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions, and countries/regions in the world today.
