One more International Film Appreciation program is held in D hall, Macao University of Science and Technology (MUST), on April 16th, 2018. It is sponsored by Macao Foundation, organized by Macao Academy of Cinematic Arts (MACA), MUST. The film for screening named “The Ambassador to Bern” was provided by the Consulate General of Hungary in Hong Kong and Macao, and we was honored to invite the Head of Culture and Education at the Consulate General of Hungary in Hong Kong and Macao- Ms. Danyi to give some introduction about this film.
Our students who from campus reporters asked a few questions from Ms. Danyi regarding the relationship between film and culture. In her opinion, she though films of different genres will affect the ways of cultural communication. For example, a Hungarian film about horse racing was screening on Hong Kong international film festival last year. As we all know, horse racing is a part of culture in Hong Kong. Therefore film-showing itself can promote the communication between two places.
Then why she chose this film to screen for this program, she said the film is so good that the student can learn a lot from it. This film were warmly welcomed by university students in Hong Kong last October. Besides, it’s a new film that maybe not many people have seen it.
About how to evaluate this activity, she was happy to cooperate with MACA in this program. According to her, university students are good audience for the promotion of Hungarian culture, as they are young, energetic and open-minded. Therefore, they are able to accept varied cultures well. Maybe after seeing this film, many would like to go to Hungary for travelling or for further study. Besides, there are many university students. It’s a large group which offers a good chance to promote Hungarian culture. She’s looking forward for future cooperation with Macau University of Science and Technology, not only on film, but also on medical studies and music.
After the introduction of the film, Ms. Danyi watched the movie with the students until the end.
