Warm Notice: Epidemic Prevention and Relevant Announcements for the Second Semester of 2020/2021 Academic Year

To: All students

Owing to the instability of global epidemic, some areas in the Mainland have recently been classified as medium or high-risk areas. As such, the Special Notice “Pay Attention to Epidemic Prevention and Entry Measures” with Ref.: AR/N/21/0001 has been announced by Academic Registry dated 8th January 2021. The University would like to remind that all students should avoid leaving Macao, any border crossing and going to the medium or high-risk areas, especially during Lunar New Year. Students should carefully assess the necessity of cross-border travel, give priority consideration to your own health and studies, reduce potential risks brought by the epidemic and also be responsible to bear the consequences of your own actions. If the travel area is classified as a medium or high-risk area, Macao SAR Government may take restricted entry measures and require medical observation. For the students who have to take cross-border travel after a circumspect assessment of potential risks and consequences, please pay attention to the latest news of the epidemic, avoid travelling to medium and high-risk areas, avoid going to crowded places, and always maintain good personal hygiene. If developing fever or respiratory symptoms after arrival to Macao, students shall seek medical attention right away and declare travelling history truthfully, for fulfilling civil responsibility. If the spread of epidemic is caused by providing false and concealed information, students shall bear the corresponding legal liability.

In cooperation with the recommendation of National Health Commission of the P.R.C and the epidemic prevention of Macao SAR Government, reducing travel and gathering is necessary, all students shall comply with the University's relevant epidemic prevention measures. The details are as below:

Part I: Personal Health Management

1. Avoid travelling to medium to high risk countries / areas of COVID-19;
2. Do not gather / assemble;
3. Maintain 1 meter social distancing and wear a mask;
4. Wash hands frequently with water and liquid soap, or rub hands with an alcohol-based handrub; do not touch the eyes, nose and mouth before performing hand hygiene;
5. Cover nose and mouth with a tissue when sneezing and coughing, and then wash hands immediately; if no tissue is available, cover nose and mouth with a sleeve or the crook of an elbow, not the palms;
6. After using the toilet, flush it with the lid closed, and wash hands thoroughly;
7. Do not share towel with others;
8. Regularly clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces in home or workplace;
9. Take body temperature and present the Macao Health Code before entering the campus;
10. According to government regulations, wear masks in public, indoor and campus area;
11. If developing fever or respiratory symptoms, wear a mask and seek medical attention right away;
12. To stay tuned to the epidemic information from the Macao SAR Government and University;
13. Will be ask to provide The Checking Route in 14 Days if necessary.

 

Part II: Comply with the University Health Management Supervision

All students should cooperate with the following measures from the second semester of 2020/2021 academic year:

  1. 【MUSTCheck】Students’ Location Report : All students from the mainland China, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan need to report your location through the Wechat APP 【MUSTCheck】
  2. Login to the WeMust Student APP and fill in the “Health Declaration” daily.
  3. In order to record your travel, please register and fill in the Checking Route in 14 Days.
  4. Resident students shall read the Dormitory Notice “Precautionary Measures of COVID-19 in Dormitory during Lunar New Year in 2021 Academic Year ” (Ref.: MUST/21/002/SA/D).

Part III: Notice
for the students who have to take cross-border travel after a circumspect assessment of potential risks, consequences and responsibilities

 

  1. Students should carefully assess the risk of contracting the disease at transportation sites or on the means of transport, as well as the risk of ad hoc cancellation of flights.
  2. Wear mask in any transportation. In any event of fever or respiratory symptoms, postpone the journey and seek medical attention promptly.
  3. Students must report their health truthfully upon entering Macao, otherwise will be held criminally liable.
  4. Students should complete health declaration truthfully upon entering Macao. Students who have travelled to medium to high-risk countries/ areas of COVID-19 within the past 21 days should declare their health condition proactively and follow the instructions of the health authorities; if necessary, the health authorities will arrange for the persons concerned to undergo medical observation in designated venue.
  5. In the event that the countries/ areas visited within the past 21 days are changed to medium or high risk after making entry into Macao, the persons concerned, despite not being assessed as requiring medical observation at the time of arrival in Macao, must pay attention to their Macao Health Code, and implement corresponding epidemic prevention measures according to the colour of the code.
  6. If developing fever or respiratory symptoms, put on a mask and consult a doctor promptly, call the Fire Services Bureau for ambulance service instead of using public transport to the hospital. Provide doctor with a detailed and truthful account of the contact and travel history, and follow doctor’s instructions.

In order to protect students’ health and life safety, please take personal protection well during the epidemic prevention period, as well as cooperate with the University’s epidemic prevention measures. Pay attention to the latest epidemic prevention information announced by the Macao SAR government and the University all the times. Students should comply with the Law on “Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases” and the technical guidelines of Disease Prevention and Control Center of Macao SAR Health Bureau.
